Savoy Cake Shop - Haymarket - Sydney, Australia

Savoy Cake Shop

One of my favourite flavoured cakes in the world.

The taro cake from Savoy is not only cheap but it's extremely delicious. At $21.00 for a small size cake with generous taro filling and fresh cream, this has got to be one of the must try cakes if you like taro.

Also available in medium and large.

Hot Dish - Rosebery - Sydney, Australia.

Hot Dish

A Chinese restaurant that serves both Chinese and Thai fare. The food is decent and fresh which is good but not the best Chinese food. Since it's located in an industrial area, there isn't much competition around and as a result the prices are much higher than what can be found in the city.

The 'Chicken Laksa ($8.00)' is good value. It's loaded to the brim with lots of vegetables, some bean sprouts and a few chicken breast pieces. Depending on the day of the week, vegetables may change depending on availability. Not a traditional laksa but filling and satisfying.

Toast Box - Bugis Junction - Singapore

Toast Box

A coffee shop that is located throughout Singapore typically known for its coffee and toast but also serves some other traditional Singaporean food like laksa. I absolutely love their kaya spread on toast.

For breakfast, I chose to try the 'Thick Toast with Kaya and Butter' which was nice and crunchy with an even slathering of butter and kaya but I still prefer thinly cut, sliced bread without the crust.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - 2012

Malaysia 2012

Happy New Year! Hoping this year will be a better year for all.

I've been on hiatus as I've been overseas from Xmas to New Years in Malaysia and Singapore.

It was a hot, humid and sweaty trip but it was well worth it.

To sum it up, my holiday was all about shopping and eating.

I'll leave you with some pictures I took in Kuala Lumpur and will get back to food posting once I find some time.
