Ramen Zundo - Sydney CBD - Sydney, Australia

Ramen Zundo

Ahhhh ramen. I can eat it all the time and never get sick of it. It's one of my all time favourite foods and if I have the chance to eat it I will.

Ramen Zundo has recently opened in World Square within the food alley. The red paper lanterns at the front of the restaurant differentiates it from the other places there. There is a menu at the front of the restaurant and it selections are minimal. Pay at the counter, take your number and the food is delivered to your table.

We're specifically here for the ramen today as it's their specialisation. I have the 'Tonkotsu Ramen Zundo Red ($11.80)' which is basically ramen with chilli flakes on top. The soup is rich and tasty, though not as thick as the one at Gumshara. I much prefer the flavour here and the noodles are springy and cooked perfectly. There are two slices of fatty pork on top which are gobbled up in no time. Please note the bowl if loaded with bean sprouts.

M has the 'Tonkotsu Ramen Zundo White ($11.80)'  which is plain tonkatsu ramen. She finds the soup to be delicious and full of flavour but she's not a big fan of the noodles. She much prefers the ramen at Menya.

T has the 'Chicken Katsu Curry ($10.90)'. The chicken appears to be friend to perfection and the curry sauce is plentiful. It is garnished with pickled red ginger.

A place I would frequent more often if I wasn't so far away from.
