Chilli Jam - Parramatta - Sydney, Australia

Chilli Jam

If you haven't been to Chill Jam, then you definitely have to go! It's got to be one of the best Thai restaurants that I have been to by far. Not only is the food authentic, great tasting and decent priced but the portions are huge compared to the standard.

The original Chilli Jam in Concord has got to be one of the best Thai restaurants in Sydney. We've have been many times and they have never failed to satisfy our Thai cravings. It is extremely busy on Friday nights and the weekend so book ahead if you plan on going.

Today, we're at Chilli Jam Parramatta for lunch which is located at the end of Church St. It's not too busy at lunch and thats how we like it. The interior is very modern and the music is soothing to the ears.

We start off with the drinks. J has the 'Thai Milk Tea ($3.50)' and says its a must have. W has a 'Pepsi ($3.50) and I go with the usual 'Lemon Lime Bitters ($3.50)'.

W has her usual 'Pad See Eww Chicken ($15.90)' which is again a very large serve which terrifies her at first but manages to finish at the end.

J and I order from the lunch specials and opt for option B. ' Chilli Jam Chicken Box Set ($15.90)' which is ginormous with a money bag, two spring rolls, dipping sauce, stir-fried chilli jam chicken, salad and rice'. I'm extremely full after the satisfying meal.

It's a bit far for me to get to now days but will be dropping by very soon for lunch or dinner if in the area.

However, I hear that the food is not always very consistent here and depends on which day of the week you go.

Meet Fresh - George St - Sydney, Australia.

Meet Fresh

These Taiwanese dessert stores have started popping up at a few locations around Sydney. The original store in Chinatown use to have queues that went around quite a distance on Friday nights during Summer but have lessened due to this chilly Winter.

I usually get the 'Taro Balls Tofu Pudding ($5.50)' no matter which store I'm at. I like the silky, smooth tofu and the chewy taro balls that accompany it. All served with syrup and crushed ice.

If you're willing to explore, there are many other dessert and drink items on the menu.

The Ivy Patisserie - Sutherland - Sydney, Australia.

The Ivy Patisserie

A deal popped up on Living Social a few months back for a dozen assorted tarts from the Ivy Patisserie. Any deal to do with desserts in the Shire, then count me in. I placed an order in one week prior to pick up to avoid disappointment this time around.

At 9am on a Saturday morning I drove down to the patisserie. It's located in a suburban area and you wouldn't notice it if you didn't have a closer look. Upon entry, I could smell the desserts and pies being baked in the oven. It was already making me drool.

I gave my voucher in and the lovely baker gave me my tarts in a neatly packed box. All I can say was yum, yum, yum. IT WAS DELICIOUS. The pastry shell was thin and crispy. It wasn't overly buttery which I prefer.

My favourite was definitely the chocolate tart. It reminded me of a chocolate mud cake.

Tan Viet Noodle House - Cabramatta, Sydney, Australia

Tan Viet Noodle House

If you have been to Cabramatta before then you probably would have heard about that famous cripsy chicken restaurant on John St. Tan Viet is a Vietnamese restaurant that specialises in the Crispy Chicken Noodles but they also have many other different foods on offer. However, the must order is the crispy chicken whether it be with noodles or rice.

We arrive just after 9:30am and the place is nearly packed considering it just opened half an hour ago. There are vibrant pictures of menu items scattered around the walls but we already know what we're having. The tables are set with cutlery and condiments so add according to your liking. Compliementary hot tea is brought out. Service here is prompt and efficient with the bean sprouts and nuoc man (dipping sauce) brought out before the mains.

The 'Mi Ga Da Don Kho ( Cripsy Skin Chicken with Dry Egg Noodles) ($12.00)' arrives shorlty with side soup. The skin of the chicken has been fried to perfection with a thin layer of skin and meaty juicy flesh on the inside. The egg noodles are topped with coriander, chives, lettuce and fried garlic. The noodles are coated in a special sauce which gives it that extra flavour.

As we leave, the queue starts to form...
